Getting Started
This chapter takes you from installer to a working dashboard in about five minutes. By the end you’ll have:
- EduBook Pro installed on your computer
- Your language and theme set
- A 14-day free trial running, OR a paid plan activated
- Your first admin account created and signed in
1. Download and install
EduBook Pro is a desktop app. It runs on Windows 10 and later. Download
the installer from the link your reseller shared, double-click the
.exe, and follow the standard install prompts.
Once installed, launch the app from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut.
2. Pick your language and theme
The first time the app opens, you’ll see a setup screen with two choices:
- Language: Arabic or English
- Theme: Dark or Light
Pick whichever you prefer — both choices apply instantly to the screen so you can see what they look like before continuing. Click Get Started when you’re happy with both.
3. Choose how you’re starting
The next screen offers three paths:
| Path | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Start Free Trial | Brand new — you want 14 days to try EduBook before paying. |
| Activate License | You already paid and have an activation code in your email. |
| Sign In | You used EduBook before on another machine — sign in to your existing account. |
3a. Free Trial
Click Start Free Trial and fill in:
- Center name — what your education center is called.
- Your name — the owner’s full name.
- Email — where the activation code will land.
- Phone — for support contact.
After you submit, EduBook emails you an activation code. Open the email (check spam if you don’t see it within a minute), click the code link to copy it, and you’re in.
3b. Paid Activation
If you bought a plan from edubookapp.tech first, you’ll have an
activation code that looks like EDU-2026-AB12CD34. Click Activate
License on the welcome screen, paste the code, and click Apply.
3c. Existing Account
If you’ve used EduBook on another computer, click Sign In and use the same email + password. EduBook will register this machine as a new device for your subscription automatically — no activation code needed.
4. Create your first admin
If you came in through a fresh trial or activation, EduBook needs ONE last thing: a login account. This is the first admin — the person who can do anything inside the app.
Fill in:
- Name — your name as it will appear in the app.
- Email — usually your owner email; this is the username for login.
- Password — at least 8 characters, mix of letters and numbers.
Click Create Account. You’re now signed in as admin.
5. Land on the dashboard
You should now see the empty dashboard. Don’t worry that it looks bare — that’s correct. Read The Dashboard next to learn what each card means, then Setting Up Your Center to add your first subjects, teachers, and groups.
Common first-run questions
The app says “Network error” on first launch. EduBook needs internet on first run to verify your license. Make sure you’re connected, then retry. Once activated, the app works offline for up to 7 days before re-checking.
My activation code isn’t working. Check that you typed it exactly — codes are uppercase and have hyphens. If you copy-pasted from email, sometimes a trailing space sneaks in. If it still fails, the code may have been redeemed already on another machine. Email service@edubookapp.tech and we’ll reissue it.
Can I switch from trial to paid without losing my data? Yes. Go to Settings → Subscription and paste the new activation code. Your students, bookings, settings — everything carries over. See Subscription & Billing for the full upgrade flow.
